Donations are applied to...

It is through the generosity of AFSP's donors that we are able to continue supporting local communities by offering education programs, funding vital suicide prevention research, raising awareness, advocating for smarter public policy, and supporting those affected by suicide. Gifts to AFSP are a sound investment as we are committed to maximizing every donor dollar received. AFSP exceeds industry standards by keeping organizational expenses at 17% of our budget, and we proudly receive an "A" rating from Charity Watch and the top rating of four stars from Charity Navigator.

Personal Message

Our vision is to build a world without suicide. That vision is not possible without your investment in our mission. Thank you for your support of AFSP and your partnership in suicide prevention.

Why are donations necessary?

More than 48,000 people die by suicide in the U.S. each year, making it the 10th leading cause of death. Through our research, education, advocacy, and loss support programs, AFSP has become the leading national organization dedicated to preventing loss of life by suicide. Our current Project 2025 is an aggressive step toward increasing prevention efforts by focusing on critical areas that can reduce suicide the fastest and help us achieve our bold goal to reduce the suicide rate 20% by 2025. With the support of the community and donors like you, AFSP is able to develop and implement life-saving strategies that will have the greatest impact.
